GISS Internet Service Monitoring

The GISS Internet Service Monitor (ISM) is another addition to the GISS product family. It provides clients peace of mind that someone is proactively monitoring not only their shop and window (web and email) but also key business productivity tools (email, web, dns, ldap, routers). This should ease the pressure associated with reactive fault management that usually occurs when clients or users report the failure of key services that are needed online immediately.

The client identifies key Internet services they would like to have externally monitored for availability e.g. HTTP and FTP, Email and Internet Connection

 
GISS then program these in to our client matrix that then tests for availability every 5 minutes, in the event of a failure, 2 more subsequent polls are performed before the notification system activates.
